According to the Google Threat Intelligence Group (GTIG) has identified a new IOS full-chain exploit that leveraged multiple zero-day vulnerabilities fully compromise devices and name it as Darksword. This iOS exploit chain adopted by multiple threat actors. The compromise device may allow hackers to attack a device via multiple entry points, making them difficulty to defend against this scenario.
Regarding to the news alert from time.com, the threat actors have hacked using Darksword by starting with web browser Safari before moving into other phone systems. The exploit tool employs a “hit-and-run” tactic which the victims was getting a short surprise attacks. The cybersecurity company explained, extracting information within seconds or, “at most,” minutes before cleaning up the data it collected and exiting. Among the internet researchers, Darksword can be pointed as the sophisticated attack tool that chains vulnerabilities in iOS and Safari to achieve full device compromised.
What kind of Iphones or iOS can be at risks?
The primarily Iphones that is operating on iOS 18.4 through 18.7. The Iphone users who are visiting a malicious or compromised websites that are being triggered by hackers may drive to attack it via JavaScript exploits. The Darksword may escapes the sandbox, and it escalates privileges to install itself in memory payloads, steals data and remove up traces.
After the device was compromised, the hacker will steal some sensitive information such as password, some credentials, call logs, contacts, messages from social media apps, photos, history of your locations, Wifi password, crypto wallets and more. For iOS users, this is the second major exploit kits reported after Coruna in early 2026 that show how attackers share or sell these kind of tools.

In order to protect yourself from Darksword, Apple patched was introduced all vulnerabilities in update like iOS18.7.3 or later versions that exploit has no longer works on updated devices.
